Did You Know You Can Get Cash For Your Scrap Metal?
Metal plays such an important part in our society and is used in nearly every way in our day to day lives.  What a lot of people don’t realise though is that it pays to recycle your scrap metal – literally.  That’s right, by recycling your scrap metal, whether it be old whiteware, car batteries, ladders, aluminium cans or even the kitchen sink – you can get paid cash.
Here’s how to do so in 4 easy steps.
1. Don’t Throw Your Scrap Metal Away.
Never throw your scrap metal in the bin.  Doing that means gets lost in landfills and is wasted.  The world needs to recycle more of its metals, our demand for its qualities is unsustainable if we don’t.
If you do have some scrap metal, keep it aside until you get approximately a trailer or car boots worth  Then you can bring it to one of our 9 sites around the country.
Putting it in your recycling bin is another alternative but this means someone else will get paid for your scrap metal and not you!
2. Freecall Us To Arrange A Pickup Or Drop-Off
Once you have enough to fill a car boot or trailer, bring it in and we can get you weighed and paid.  Of course, you can come in with smaller volumes if it’s more convenient too.
If you have a larger item or items, give us a call on 0800 226 626 and we can look to arrange a pickup truck to come out and collect for you eg an old tractor that may have run out of juice.Â
3. We’ll Pick Up Or You Can Drop Off!
For those larger volumes of scrap metal, a Sims Metal truck can come out and safely collect for you.  Our friendly staff will help you with whatever collection challenges you have and can provide mobile crane facilities to make loading those larger items easier.
If you are dropping off, we have sites all across New Zealand from Auckland to Invercargill.  Most of them have purpose-built covered loading areas, and we always supply a helpful pair of hands to get you loaded as safely and efficiently as possible.Â
4. Get Weighed & Get Paid – Easy As.
For scrap metal drop off at one of our branches, we will weigh your scrap through certified scales and weighbridges and then get you paid!
For collection or bin services, give us a call and we can arrange a payment method that works for you.  In some cases, we can also supply an onsite weighing facility.  Speak to one of our friendly team to find out more.Â
